Background: Prior to the war, Vince enjoyed the benefits of fame and esteem as a result of succeeding within SDL's rankings, sponsorship, and events. He was well on his way to slipping back out into the peace of obscurity when the chaos ensued. At the start of the war, the quiet mountain forest he called home was besieged by a flood of warriors, seeking to gain his favor or challenge him. The title of elite suddenly became a curse, resulting in the burning of his 'estate' and the loss of much of his belongings.

As the war progressed, the people migrating on and through his land grew more destructive. In addition to the warriors that constantly came into conflict with him, over hunting, lumbering, and high traffic wiped out the animal life, forcing him to venture back into cities for food and endure even more conflicts. As time went on, he slowly became stronger, faster, smarter, and crueler. He made it a habit to maim particularly stubborn warriors, in the hopes that a reputation of fear would spread, and he became particularly famous for crippling his opponents with their own weapons. His new title 'Ken No Ki', or Spirit of the sword, comes from his almost supernatural ability to make weapons betray the person wielding them. Whenever he is seen on the battlefield, it is with the company of dozens of swords that he has gained the favor of.



Despite the unmoral actions he was forced to take, he still tries to force himself to live the happy carefree way he used to. His instinct often conflicts with this, as he will be relentless and cruel during times of stress automatically, often leading to regrets later if he realizes it was unwarranted. When it comes down to the wire though, he is still the dizzy, silly drunkard he always was.

With a few exceptions, all that remains of his forest lands are fields choked with rotting corpses, and charred soil. While he retains much of the wealth he quietly accumulated from selling brews and collecting SDL Sponsorship credits, he has shifted to collecting war loot, gathering and selling the vast collection of armor and weapons on his ruined properties. Any brews he makes now are rare and sparse, as the majority of the ingredients he grew for use are now burned and gone. He still possesses enough to use in combat.

He possesses horizontal 3 scars on his chest, which, with his muscle structure, appears to take the form of the chinese character for 'King'. It is not known how he received this mark.
